Cody Bellinger's 2 home run game on Sunday opened a lot of eyes in the MLB world. However, it apparently caught the attention of other sports stars as well. NFL players have not been shy about discussing their interest in baseball this year, especially JJ Watt. However, it was Raiders QB Derek Carr who made a bold claim about the Dodgers and Bellinger following Los Angeles's 10-2 victory over the Padres on Sunday.
@Cody_Bellinger 🔥🔥 y'all it's going to be a problem if your team isn't the @Dodgers this year

The Dodgers won the weekend series with San Diego 2-1. After wining game 1, the Padres rebounded with a walk-off victory in Game 2. But Cody Bellinger and the Dodgers obliterated the Padres to clinch the series in Game 3.
Bellinger faced criticism entering the season after an utterly disappointing 2021 campaign and a rough Spring Training performance. There were even questions about removing him from the starting lineup after a couple of difficult games to open the season. But manager Dave Roberts continuously preached patience in regards to the outfielder and his trust has paid off.
Bellinger is slashing .273/.333/.582 with a .915 OPS and 4 homers. He is beginning to settle in and prove that his 2021 performance was an outlier. Los Angeles features an elite lineup even without Bellinger. So if he can play well there is no telling how good this Dodgers team will be in 2022. Bellinger's 2 home run game is a great indication of just how talented he can be when he plays up to his full potential.
It certainly has to feel like quite the accomplishment to get recognition from an NFL star such as Derek Carr as well.
Cody Bellinger and the Dodgers will aim to stay hot as they travel to Arizona for a series against the Diamondbacks.
