The Toronto Blue Jays lost a marathon game on Monday to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the World Series. After 18 innings, Los Angeles came out winning by a 6-5 score. Following the game, Blue Jays player Davis Schneider was left heartbroken.
Schneider was the last Blue Jays player to leave the dugout, per The Athletic. He spoke to reporters after about what was going on in his head in that moment. The Blue Jays lost after Dodgers slugger Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run.
“You never want to be on the wrong side of these type of games,” Schneider said. “18 innings, it kinda wears on you, makes you feel even worse. We fought hard. They fought hard. They came out on top.”
The Dodgers used 10 pitchers against Toronto in the game, but Toronto just came up short. It was a wasted start for Blue Jays ace Max Scherzer, who lasted four-plus innings.
“This one will sting tonight,” Scherzer said. “Don’t get me wrong. You wouldn’t be human if it didn’t. But the way our team operates, the way we function, we’ll have a pretty good effort tomorrow.”
Los Angeles and Toronto play again in Game 4 on Tuesday. It is a must-win game for the Blue Jays.
Blue Jays have to quickly forget and move on from Game 3

The Blue Jays are exhausted after playing an 18-inning marathon in Game 3. The players feel the physical and mental pain of losing. Toronto knows that the team just can't sulk and slow down, as the team has lost back-to-back games.
“I’m pretty sure everybody is feeling it right now,” Isiah Kiner-Falefa said. “Just body wise, try to figure that out.”
The Blue Jays insist they won't be napping though in Game 4 on Tuesday.
“These guys are going to be more than ready,” team manager John Schneider said. “The Dodgers didn’t win the World Series today, they won a game.”
Toronto's batters will have to face off against Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani on Tuesday night in Game 4. Ohtani is getting the start for Los Angeles. The Blue Jays are going with Shane Bieber.
Blue Jays fans hope the club can even the World Series on Tuesday.
