The latest player ratings for NBA 2K21 were released on Thursday, much to the delight of NBA 2K gamers worldwide. While other superstars so their ratings go up in the popular video game, fan favorites LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo's respective stocks took a slight dip.

LeBron, who lorded the leader boards on NBA 2K21 with a 98 rating dropped to 97. The same goes for The Greek Freak who saw his 97 rating drop to just 96 after the latest patch.

Despite the demotion, the Lakers megastar still holds the highest player rating in the NBA 2K21 game, while the reigning MVP is now tied for second alongside the likes of Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden. Charlotte Hornets' super rookie LaMelo Ball, on the other hand, was one of the biggest gainers in the latest update, as his overall rating jumped to 81 from his previous 78.

The same goes for the league's top scorer at the moment, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, who received three additional points and now has an overall NBA 2K21 rating of 91.

NBA 2K21 aims to create a semblance of realism in their game as much as possible. Players who are performing better in real-life do get boosted within the game, while those who struggle are somehow nerfed to match their performance.

LeBron and Giannis' fans are probably not too happy with 2k21's latest update, but should not fret considering these two superstars are still two of the most overpowered individuals you can use in the game. NBA players, on the other hand, are also on the lookout for 2k's patches, just to see how they are “scored” in the NBA 2K21 game.

As much as players love to deny this, these NBA 2K21 ratings do matter to them. In fact, we've seen a handful of guys feeling slighted through the years over their supposed worth on the popular basketball simulation video game.
