DeMarcus Cousins and JaVale McGee have generated little to no noise on the free-agent market, but it might not be because teams aren't interested in them. According to Vincent Ellis of The Detroit Free Press, the feeling around the league is that both Cousins and McGee are waiting on the Los Angeles Lakers before making any decisions. They are waiting to see what Kawhi Leonard does.

There have been reports that there is no market for Cousins right now, and that might have some validity. After all, he has a torn Achilles in his rearview mirror, and he tore his quad in the playoffs. Couple those injuries with the fact that Cousins does not exactly have the best reputation to begin with, and you can understand why teams are not clamoring to offer him a deal.

As for McGee? We know the book on him by now. He is a hyper-athletic big man who can represent a terrific threat in the pick-and-roll and a really good rim protector who can also step out and adequately guard the pick-and-roll defensively, but his penchant for making head-scratching decisions on the court prevents clubs from going out of their way to make him a part of their team.

Cousins spent the 2018-19 campaign with the Golden State Warriors, playing in just 30 games as a result of returning from his Achilles injury in January. He had to resort to signing a one-year deal with the Warriors last summer because there was very limited interest in him on the open market.

As for McGee, the two-time NBA champion signed a one-year contract with the Lakers last offseason.
