This, however, is not yet set in stone.
There is so much uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 crisis that it's hard to set a definite schedule. The global pandemic has certainly affected many sporting events all over the world, including the upcoming Tokyo Olympics this summer.
Likewise, major sporting events such as the 2019-20 NBA season have been put on hold. The NBA has yet to issue an official return date for the season. However, the league office said that it is considering to resume basketball by June or July. Likewise, the NBA has reportedly considered a target date for the NBA Finals.
As for the Olympics, big names such as Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers previously expressed their interest in playing for Team USA in the global tournament. LeBron and Steph are arguably two of the most popular players over the last half of the decade.
The two megastars playing alongside each other is certainly a sight that most NBA fans want to see. It's unfortunate that we won't get to see that happening this upcoming summer. Hopefully, if the opportunity permits and if this global pandemic comes to a close, we'll see the two of them on the same team representing Team USA.
