Greatness recognizes greatness. Real recognizes real. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers pays his respect to Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after The Greek Freak won the 2019 NBA MVP award.

Rodgers, a two-time NFL MVP, took it to Twitter to send his congratulations to Antetokounmpo after capping the year with the highest individual honor in the NBA. Giannis undoubtedly had a season to remember, highlighted with his 2018-19 averages of 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.

The Packers QB said he was “very proud” of Giannis and pointed out that he's a “great representation” of the team, the City of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin.

Antetokounmpo edged Houston Rockets star and 2018 MVP James Harden for the honor, while Paul George — although a finalist — didn't really come close in competing for the two.

While Antetokounmpo failed to lead the Bucks to the championship, exiting in the Eastern Conference Finals after losing to the Toronto Raptors, his performance in the past season couldn't be ignored. With him leading the way, Milwaukee finished with the best record in the NBA and established themselves as legitimate title contenders.

Rodgers is right, Antetokounmpo deserves the award. However, the journey is far from over for the 24-year-old rising star. After all, he still has a championship and a Finals MVP to win.
