Oklahoma City Thunder star Chris Paul is certainly proud with the actions the NBA and the NBPA have taken in response to fighting racism and social injustices towards members of the Black community.

Recently, the NBA announced that it had partnered with the NBPA on a $300 million fund that would be contributed yearly to create economic empowerment in Black communities. The foundation would create employment opportunities for Black men and women through local organizations and charitable partnerships.

After hearing the news, the Thunder star admitted that the funding is a massive boost to their efforts. CP3 also noted that the fact they have a say where the fund goes is important.

The NBA has become the clear-cut leader among the major sports in the United States when it comes to social change and the Black Lives Matter movement, and much of that can be chalked up to the activism of its biggest stars — Chris Paul included.

Though Paul is the president of the Players Association, and thus the most instrumental in enacting positive change for the NBA, the rest of the NBPA Executive Committee features multiple big names such as Kyrie Irving and Garrett Temple of the Brooklyn Nets, Andre Iguodala of the Miami Heat, CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics, Malcolm Brogdon of the Indiana Pacers, Bismack Biyombo of the Charlotte Hornets and Anthony Tolliver of the Memphis Grizzlies.
