It's no secret that players from this generation would have loved to share the court with the GOAT Michael Jordan, and retired NBA superstar Dwyane Wade is no different.

In an AMA session with Bleacher Report on Friday, Wade admitted that “His Airness” is the player he wishes he could have been teammates with.

Dwyane Wade narrowly missed the opportunity to at least play against Michael Jordan in the NBA. MJ infamously un-retired for the second time in 2001 when he suited up for the Washington Wizards. He played his final NBA game on April 16, 2003.

Wade, on the other hand, was drafted fifth overall by the Miami Heat in the 2003 NBA Draft just two months later after spending two seasons in Marquette. Had he left college a year earlier, Wade might have at least gotten the chance to play with or against Jordan.

Although the 6-foot-4 Wade is two inches shorter than Jordan, there's no denying that the two athletic shooting guards could have had an epic match-up against one another.

Wade stayed in the Eastern Conference throughout his 16-year NBA career, while Jordan pretty much ruled the entire conference (and the league) in the '90s. Apart from their vast offensive repertoire, both Jordan and Wade were lockdown defenders at their position.

Jordan won six NBA titles and now spends his days as the majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets. Wade, meanwhile, managed to win three championships and has transitioned to broadcasting for TNT.

Although he did miss out on playing with Jordan, Wade actually experienced probably the next best thing. “The Flash” was teammates with the NBA's current GOAT, LeBron James, from 2010 to 2014 with the Heat.
