Retired 15-time All-Star big man Kevin Garnett is in some hot water right now following the release of a recent court order demanding him to shell out $100,000 a month in relation to his legal battle with estranged wife Brandi Garnett.

Daniel Goldblatt of Yahoo Entertainment provides the details of the recent ruling, which will definitely put a hole in the former NBA champion's deep pockets:

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former NBA star was ordered to pay Brandi Garnett $100,000 a month to cover both child and spousal support.

As The Blast first reported, Brandi was seeking 46,000 a month in child support, estimating that she will have the kids 95% of the time. She was also asking for another $146,000 in spousal support and then another $300,000 to cover her legal fees.

In the new ruling, Brandi got the $300,000 she was asking for (of which KG has already paid $75,000) and an additional $225,000.

This will serve as a big blow for Garnett from a financial perspective, especially considering how his current annual income is nowhere near what he used to earn as a professional.

During his prime, Garnett earned close to $30 million dollars in a single season. Basketball Reference estimates his total career earnings at $343 million, which does not yet include all the income he earned from endorsement deals.

Nevertheless, $100,000 per month is still no small sum, and it will definitely sting for KG.

The last time we saw Garnett take the floor was in the 2015-16 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The former season MVP hold career averages of 17.8 points (on 49.7 percent shooting), 10.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.4 blocks per contest.
