Jimmer Fredette, the former 10th overall pick of the 2011 NBA Draft, just dropped 75 points in China for the Shanghai Sharks.

Along with 75 points, Fredette almost had a triple-double as he also tallied eight rebounds and seven assists. In addition, the 29-year-old was 24-of-34 from the field, including 7-of-10 on 3-pointers, and was 20-of-21 from the free-throw line

However, his team lost to Beikong, 137-136, thanks to a buzzer-beating game-winner from Pierre Jackson, who led his team with 63 points.

As reported by Kevin Wang of ESPN, Jimmer Fredette expressed his thoughts after the game:

“‘Absolutely sick about the loss tonight. But what a game it was! Proud of our guys for fighting back,' Fredette wrote on Chinese social media after the game.”

Prior to making a name in China, Fredette was one of the top college prospects that seemed to be destined for the NBA. He holds a ton of scoring records for BYU, and at one point, was tagged as the best player in the country.

However, once in NBA, Jimmer Fredette became a journeyman and jumped from team to team and had stints in the G League. Come 2016, he signed with the Sharks and his popularity soared to extreme heights. His basketball career, too, was revived. His fans have even called him “The Lonely God,” primarily due to his scoring talent and good-natured character.
