The Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks are reportedly not close on a Zach Randolph-Enes Kanter trade and talks between the two teams may have broken off, according to Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee.

ESPN reported on Wednesday that the Kings and Knicks were discussing the deal.

Both Enes Kanter and Zach Randolph have expiring contracts. Kanter is making $18.62 million this season, while Randolph is earning $11.69 million.

In 41 games for the Knicks, Kanter is averaging 14.4 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. The 26-year-old scoring big man is shooting 54.3 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from beyond the arc and 81.7 percent from the free-throw line.

New York is 10-31 on the season and the front office is prioritizing playing the younger players more minutes moving forward.

Randolph hasn't played in a game yet this season. The veteran is out of the rotation in Sacramento and likely won't play this year for the Kings, who have Marvin Bagley III, Nemanja Bjelica and Skal Labissiere at the power forward spot.

It looks like the Kings (20-21) are trying to sneak into the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference, so adding Enes Kanter to the frontcourt could help them since he's a good scorer and rebounder. We'll see if the two teams are able to regain any traction on a deal.
