The Indiana Pacers came into their season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies with big expectations. After being one of the league's biggest surprises next season, the Pacers have a lot more hype surrounding them this year.

Victor Oladipo and company did not disappoint the home crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Not only did the Pacers take care of business against the Grizzlies, they did so by a final score of 111-83. That margin of victory happens to bring some history with it.

According to Nat Newell of the Indianapolis Star, the Pacers' 28-point win is the largest margin of victory for the team in franchise history. The previous high was a 27-point win back in 1985 against the Nets.

Indiana is one of the teams expected to compete with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference. With LeBron James no longer in the conference, quite a few teams believe they have a chance.

Plenty of players got involved with big performances for the Pacers this evening. Among those players were Bojan Bogdanovic, who led the team with 19 points, Victor Oladipo with 16 points, five rebounds, and five assists, and Domantas Sabonis with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Tyreke Evans scored 14 points and dished out six assists in his debut with the team.

It will be interesting to see just how good this Pacers team ends up being this season. They looked like they had a lot of chemistry with each other and just like last year played completely together.

Even though this is just the first game of the season, the fans should be very excited about what's to come in 2018-19.
