Pau Gasol has quashed all rumors about a potential reunion between himself and brother, Marc Gasol, in Barcelona. According to Pau, he just does not see this happening.

The older Gasol made his statement in a recent interview for Spanish news outfit EFE, per Marca:

“Marc and me at Barca? I am surprised by the impact and journey of unverified information,” Pau said (h/t Eurohoops.net). “They are fake news.”

Marc's current deal with the Toronto Raptors will expire in the offseason, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. There has been some talk about a potential extension with the 2019 NBA champs, but that is anything but certain at this point. He may be 35, but the younger Gasol still has some gas left in his tank.

Marc has also been heavily linked to a move to Barcelona in Spain, but both parties have since denied any deal.

As for Pau Gasol, he too is in a bit of a crossroads in his career. The 40-year-old has expressed on multiple occasions that he wants to play at least one more year, but injuries have plagued him at the tail end of what has been an illustrious career. Pau underwent surgery on his left foot in 2019, and has yet to fully recover from the same.

Pau also mentioned in the interview that he will make a decision within the coming months if he will opt to finally call it a career. It's been a good ride for the Spanish national, and should he announce his retirement in the near future, there's no denying that he will be missed.
