Bay Area rapper Too Short has some interesting and NSFW comments about the NBA when talking about the NFL and their contract negotiations.

When asked about the recent comments made by Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — who said there's no need for a quality running back to win a championship in the NFL — Too Short quickly claimed that Jones' comments were ridiculous. He then pointed out that there is a need for quality players all over the field to be successful.

Interestingly, the famed artist then went on to blame large NBA free-agent contracts as the reason why NFL players were holding out for more money.

“Basketball f*cked everybody up in the head,” the 53-year-old rapper and record producer told TMZ.

“Everybody was like, ‘You get $100 million! You get $100 million! You get $150! You get $180! You get $220!' It's f*cked up, now! Athletes are like, ‘It's f*cked up. You gotta give us our money! Give us our money.'”

It's true that NBA contracts are larger than ever now, allowing players that haven't even made an All-Star team to get paid handsomely. Interest in the NBA is at an all-time high, and it only reflects how big the league has become globally.

However, it's wrong to blame another league for the shortcoming of another. The NFL has had plenty of issues over the years, and growing the NFL brand outside the United States proved to be too difficult.

Too Short may just be defending why NFL players like Ezekiel Elliot are holding out in search of bigger pay, but the reality is the NBA has little to do with it.
