The NBA is showcasing two rookies this season that come from the former Yugoslavia and add to the area's rich basketball history. Luka Doncic, Slovenia, and Dzanan Musa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, are set to star in the documentary “There's Something in the Water” about the lead up to the NBA draft for the young stars.

Luka Doncic of the Mavericks and Dzanan Musa of the Nets are children of the former Yugoslavia and they are hoping to carry on the legacy left by former NBAers like Drazen Petrovic and Vlade Divac.

Doncic is coming into the season with much higher expectations than Musa, but both are highly touted prospects with bright futures ahead of them.

Doncic was selected with the third overall pick by Atlanta and subsequently traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He's an early frontrunner for Rookie of the Year after winning the EuroLeague MVP at the tender age of 19.

Musa was drafted later in the first round, 29, by the Brooklyn Nets. He's more of a project than Doncic at this point in their respective careers, but his potential remains sky high. Musa was particularly happy about being selected by the Nets. Drazen Petrovic played for the Nets and although the dynamic guard lost his life tragically in a car accident, the Croatian is still held in high regard in the former Yugoslavia.

Both Doncic and Musa have high hopes for their NBA careers and it's clear that one basketball-crazed corner of the world will be watching their every move.
