Former Maccabi Tel Aviv forward Deni Avdija is the most intriguing prospect in the upcoming 2020 Draft mainly due to the Luka Doncic-comparisons he received so far. The 19-year-old Israeli-Serbian, after all, possesses an all-around game and appears to be ready to give any NBA team who drafts him some immediate impact off the bat.

Per Marc Berman of the New York Post, Avdija bared how flattered he was from being likened to the Dallas Mavericks' young superstar, but admits he wants to carve his own path in the big leagues.

“What Luka he’s doing right now is great,’’ he shared. “We came from the same league basically so I understand why people, they see familiar things. I want to make it clear he’s a great player and has his own path and skills and I have my own path and skills. I have my own abilities — the good and bad. I just don’t want to be compared to anybody.”

It's not hard to see flashes of Luka Doncic's game in the way Deni Avdija carries himself in the basketball court. At 6-foot-9, the 3-time Israeli League champion is bigger than Doncic and can also play multiple positions. His ability to play position-less basketball is no doubt his most enticing trait, while his 3-point marksmanship is also something NBA teams are salivating for at the moment.

Avdija's stock has certainly skyrocketed over the past few weeks, with some pundits projecting him to go as high as second overall to the Golden State Warriors. The Steve Kerr-mentored team are reportedly strongly considering plugging him into their wings alongside established superstars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.

Furthermore, Avdija has already received some valuable NBA wisdom from Amar'e Stoudemire. The 6-time All-Star mentored the young prospect during their time as teammates in Israel.

While Avdija enjoys the attention he is getting at the moment, he prefers to let his game do the talking once he reaches the big leagues.

“I don’t like to talk about my game,’’ he said. “I just trying to do what’s best for team at that moment. At the end of the game, I just like to win. It’s hard for me to lose.’’
