NBA Hall of Famer Jason Kidd is currently an assistant coach on the Los Angeles Lakers, where he gets to coach LeBron James. From 2014 to January of 2018 though, Kidd was the head coach of Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. The franchise fired the Hall of Famer on Jan. 22 and multiple reports at the time said Giannis was very upset about the decision.

Kidd is expected to garner head coaching interest whenever the 2020 offseason begins. With that said, many have wondered what his relationship is really like with James and Giannis, particularly the latter since he can become an unrestricted free agent in 2021 if he doesn't sign the supermax extension with the Bucks this summer.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, both LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo are fans of Kidd.

“LeBron loves Jason Kidd,’’ one team executive told The Post. “But Giannis swears by him.’’

Moreover, some NBA pundits believe Kidd may be able to help teams sign the Greek Freak. In fact, one personnel familiar with the New York Knicks’ interest in Kidd believes the NBA legend can help any club get Antetokounmpo to the “dinner table” when it comes to free agency meetings.

“He’s a Hall of Fame player and young innovative coach who learned from his past mistakes,’’ the anonymous NBA personnel said. “I think the Knicks’ young players would relate to him. Whether a factor for Giannis, wherever [Kidd] goes to coach, that team most definitely will have a seat at that dinner table when the time comes.”

It's going to be fascinating to see if the Knicks or Brooklyn Nets hire Kidd. He played for both teams and even coached the Nets in 2013-14 before getting traded to the Bucks.

Kidd, one of the best point guards in NBA history, went 44-38 with the Nets and 139-152 with the Bucks as head coach.
