The Los Angeles Clippers have brought in a veteran presence by acquiring Rajon Rondo from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Lou Williams, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski:

The Clippers are also sending two future second-round draft picks to ATL in the deal for Rondo:

This is a sad ending to Williams' time with the Clippers, having spent the last 3.5 seasons in LA. It's been a down year for the former Sixth Man of the Year though, averaging just 12.1 points per game, his lowest scoring total since 2013. He's heading to an Atlanta team with promise though since Nate McMillan took over and Williams already spent two years with the Hawks from 2012-14.

As for Rondo, he's struggled to really make much of an impact with the Hawks, featuring in just 27 games after injury problems at the start of the campaign. He's also putting up just 3.9 points per night. However, he could play an important role for the Clippers who are looking to make some noise in the playoffs after a disappointing exit last season.

With a change of scenery back to Los Angeles, this could be what rejuvenates the vet. Having won a title with the Lakers in 2020 as well, Rondo brings important playoff experience to Tyronn Lue's squad.
