Though the team could use a bit of help on the wing, the Dallas Mavericks are still reluctant to join in on the hunt for Andre Iguodala ahead of this season's trade deadline, according to a report form Marc Stein of The New York Times. However, that could change for the Mavs as the deadline gets closer.

The Golden State Warriors traded Iguodala to the Grizzlies this offseason. Instead of buying him out, Memphis has been hoping to find a suitable trade with a playoff contender, as the team is in a rebuild phase. No deals have come to fruition, though, and the deadline (Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET) draws near.

Several teams have reportedly expressed interest in Iguodala, including the Mavs, Nuggets, Rockets, and Clippers. Memphis, who has said they are not interested in waiving him, will be looking for fair compensation in any sort of deal.

Interestingly, ESPN's Brian Windhorst noted in November that the Mavs would be “in good position” to trade for Iguodala.

“One place is shaping up as a possibility,” Windhorst said, referring to Iguodala. “And that is the Dallas Mavericks.

Iguodala, who is not currently with the Grizzlies as he awaits a trade or buyout, could be a fine wing addition for the Mavs and a lot of teams. His production has tailed off in recent seasons, however. The 36-year-old played in 68 games with the Warriors during the 2018-19 campaign (13 starts), racking up averages of 5.7 points on 50.0 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 3.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and just under one steal (0.9) in 23.2 minutes per outing.

The Mavs will look to improve on their 30-19 overall record in Monday night's matchup against the Indiana Pacers. Tip-off inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
