It may seem like a small gesture, but the two Celtics stars are making it clear to Hayward that they want him bad to continue their run of success in the Eastern Conference. Possibly, he could push them over the edge to the Finals.

It’s no secret that the Celtics need more depth at the forward position, and they believe Hayward will fit in well in their system. He can thrive without the ball in his hands, as he moves well to get himself open. It also helps the team’s case that they have Brad Stevens, who the 27-year-old played for during his days at Butler.
With the potential addition of Markelle Fultz in the draft and Hayward in free agency, the C’s will be in a good position to have more firepower to their already formidable lineup.
It will still be a long summer for them regardless of who they go for, but their front office will definitely do their best to build the team they think can win it all.
