Even with the Boston Celtics having a very strong start to Game 5 of their second round playoff series against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, their players were still nit picking their performance in the first 24 minutes of action.

They wanted the win so bad that some of them called out each other in an attempt to further fire them up in the second half. However, according to Jay King of Mass Live, the players lost their cool and began raising their voices. The good news is they had Al Horford, who took control of the situation and ended the arguments immediately.

“The Celtics held a big halftime lead Wednesday night against the Washington Wizards, but players wanted the victory so badly they were ‘getting into it' with each other, according to Avery Bradley. He later explained to MassLive.com that players were losing their cool, screaming at each other. They had controlled the first half, but they were fighting with themselves. ”

“The emotions could have spilled over into the second half, endangered the big advantage Boston had built, and given the Wizards the opening they needed. Instead, as Bradley told MassLive.com, ‘Al stopped it like that.'”

Avery Bradley talked about the kind of leadership the 6-foot-10 center brings to the C's. He then shared what Horford told them at the halftime break that allowed them to keep their focus.

“He's very vocal. He's a guy that helps us all keep our composure. We were kind of falling apart at halftime and Al kept everyone together, and told us that if we continue to play that way in the third quarter we have a chance to win the game.”

Despite the misunderstanding among their players, Boston fans should not be too worried, especially with Horford making sure his teammates' emotions are kept in check. His action proves that there's more to stats in his true value to the Celtics.
