Despite successfully adding an All-star small forward in Gordon Hayward to their fold, the Boston Celtics still have to address their significant need for a big man who can serve as a rim protector for them, and also help in their rebounding deficiency.

According to HoopsHype’s Alex Kennedy, the Boston is already in the process of looking for one, and may come up with a trade or signing soon in order to make sure they have enough depth at the four and five spots.

Although there are some free agents still available, their lack of financial flexibility is hurting them since they still need to make room for the signing of Hayward. This means their best chances are either in free agency or via a trade involving some of their players that are believed to be intriguing prospects for a number of teams. Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart or even Avery Bradley are the candidates to moved for a big man, but the Celtics are still looking into all their options. If they'll be able to move some pieces quickly, it may allow them to sign a free agent directly, without any cap space complications.

The team has been linked to a possible deal with the Memphis Grizzlies for Marc Gasol, but there's a lot to work through if that's to come to fruition. It may also be hindered by Memphis' willingness to fully rebuild, and give up their veteran center for the package the Celtics will offer. Danny Ainge is also being reluctant in giving up future draft selections, which could also be a roadblock for the deal to happen.

With the offseason still in its early days, the Celtics have time to decide on what to do with their lineup. One thing certain at this point is that Ainge and company will make the necessary moves needed in order to place themselves in the best possible position to come out of the East next season, and compete for the title.
