The departure of Zach Randolph to the Sacramento Kings could spell the beginning of the end of the Grit and Grind era for the Memphis Grizzlies.

With a recent infusion of youth on the roster and the impending free agency departure of Second Team All-Defense ace Tony Allen, the Grizzlies could slowly start to shed their older players and like many other teams, indulge in the cycle of rebuilding and growing around their young pieces.

The Boston Celtics could be the first calling in the market for their center Marc Gasol in a trade scenario, two league executives told Chris Mannix of The Vertical.

Gasol, who comes off his third All-Star season, comes off averaging career-highs 19.5 points, and 4.6 assists per game last season, even improving his stroke and draining 104 trifectas — 92 more than his total makes in his career prior to the start of last season.

The Celtics just upgraded their wing scoring with the addition of Gordon Hayward, but will likely need more than what Al Horford is giving them at the center spot to contend with an Eastern Conference powerhouse like the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Spanish international is on a manageable contract, with $47 million left in his deal for the next two seasons, including a $25.6 million player option for 2019-20.

Boston's young assets (if president Danny Ainge is surprisingly willing to part with them) could entice the Grizzlies to make a full-on move for the future of the franchise sooner, rather than later.
