Washington Wizards star guard John Wall proved that he can be counted on by his team to step up when their season is on the line on Friday, but it appears like Isaiah Thomas was given a lesser chance to save the day for the Boston Celtics on the night.
With 3.5 seconds left in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup, the C's inbounded the ball to Kelly Olynyk, who was immediately fouled by Kelly Oubre, as they had a foul to give at that point. However, the clock did not stop at the 2.7 second mark, until it eventually did with 1.7 remaining.
On the ensuing play, Thomas had to take a desperation three-pointer, which he missed, as the game clock was not on their side.

The 5-foot-9 point guard has made a name for himself this season as “Mr. Fourth Quarter” for his ability to take over games in the final 12 minutes of play. The Boston faithful are now left to wonder what would've been the result of the match if their franchise player had another second to work with to try and advance to the conference finals.
As it turned out, the Wizards forced a Game 7 on Sunday, where their opponents are expected to be at their best, especially with the Beantown crowd cheering them on. The Celtics may feel that they have been “robbed” with a chance to end the series inside Verizon Center, but if they play like how they did in Games 1, 2 and 5, they will be very difficult to beat, and could make their way closer to winning it all this season.
