The Boston Celtics have exercised options on Jayson Tatum and Robert Williams, according to multiple reports.
Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium broke the news on Tatum, while Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports relayed the Williams tidbit:
The Boston Celtics have exercised forward Jayson Tatum's $9.9M fourth-year team option, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Critical third season coming for Tatum.

Per league sources: The Boston Celtics have exercised their 2020-21 rookie scale team option for Robert Williams. This is the third year team option for Williams.

With All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Al Horford gone, the Celtics are going to be expecting a lot more from Tatum this season. The talented swingman is said to be ready for a bigger role in Boston.
Last season, Tatum averaged 15.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line. The Celtics believe in Tatum, so much so that they have been unwilling to include him and Jaylen Brown in possible trade packages to stars in recent years.
The Celtics are hoping Tatum comes close to averaging around 20.0 points per game this season. He’s too lethal of a scorer to not take the next step in his development, especially after partaking in Team USA activities this offseason.
Williams, the 27th overall pick in the 2018 draft, appeared in 32 games as a rookie last season. The Celtics center put up 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in roughly nine minutes of action.
Now that Horford and Aron Baynes aren't in Boston anymore, Williams should see increased playing time this season for the Celtics.
