Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker was dealing with some discomfort in his left knee.

As a result, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said the club is going to ease Walker back into the swing of things before the seeding games and playoffs start at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The Celtics are 43-21, good for third place in the Eastern Conference standings. They have already clinched a spot in the 2020 playoffs, so Boston will use the eight seeding games to knock off the rust after such a long layoff.

Before the season was suspended in March following Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test, Walker was averaging 21.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists in his first campaign with the Celtics. The 29-year-old New York native was also shooting 42.1 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from beyond the arc and 86.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Walker has only played in 11 postseason games in his NBA career. He joined the Celtics last summer because he feels he can go on a deep playoff run with Boston, something he wasn't able to accomplish with the Charlotte Hornets.

Once the 2020 playoffs start, the Celtics will ultimately go as far as Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward can lead them offensively. Boston's eight seeding games have the team facing the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards.
