The Boston Celtics are 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals over the Miami Heat. Despite injuries and ailments, the team is just games away from a potential championship title. Now, Celtics fans have even more to look forward to. Former Boston center Glen Davis will enter the boxing ring as part of Jake Paul's upcoming pay-per-view.
NBA insider Shams Charania tweeted the news Thursday morning.
Hoops-boxing crossover: 8-year NBA vet Glen “Big Baby” Davis is targeted to be part of Jake Paul’s PPV event on Aug. 13, per sources. Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions was working on Davis-Larry Sanders, but is now evaluating new opponent due to Big 3 commitment for Sanders.

Paul's team was working on getting former Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders to take on Davis. However, according to Charania, it's unclear who will face off against “Big Baby” in August.

Davis is bound to put on a show, no matter who is up against him. The former Celtics center is 6'9″ and just under 300 pounds, automatically making him extremely intimidating in the ring.
Since news broke that Davis would be joining him, Paul invited other professional athletes to take on the NBA champion. He tweeted Thursday morning, asking if any NFL or NHL stars would be “willing to step in the ring” with Davis.

Paul announced his return to the ring and the August 13 event at the beginning of May. However, he hasn't revealed who he will be taking on in the main event. Paul hasn't fought since his sixth-round knockout win against Tyron Woodley in December of 2021. This will be Davis' first professional boxing experience.
