Boston Celtics star Gordon Hayward just made his post-injury debut for the C's in his team's pre-season opener against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday. After getting a good run for his side following a year spent recovering from a gruesome leg injury last season, Hayward rocked a very interesting piece of accessory that featured his now famous “Daddy's Always Happy” catchphrase.

For a little back story, this catchy slogan went viral a couple of months back following Hayward's epic reaction to his third child's gender reveal event. Hayward's wife, Robyn, shared an unintentionally hilarious clip of Hayward reacting to the news of him having his third daughter in a row.

Hayward actually made good use of the unexpected popularity of his slogan, and started a charity out of it. The 28-year-old appears fully-committed to his aid organization and is evidently promoting it as a fashion statement.

Gordon Hayward started the pre-season contest for the Celtics and played 22 minutes in the 104-97 loss against the Hornets. The former All-Star made 2-of-7 from the field and connected on only one triple out of five attempts. The 6-foot-8 swingman understandably looked a bit rusty, making only 5-of-7 from the charity stripe. He finished the game with 10 points, three rebounds, one assist, one block, and zero turnovers.

This is going to be a very important year for Hayward as he hopes to prove his worth to the Celtics organization who have yet to get any return on their substantial investment on him.
