The Boston Celtics face a must-win scenario on Friday night, as they travel to Milwaukee to face the defending NBA Champion Bucks in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series. It is not yet known whether or not the Celtics will have their starting center, Robert Williams III, in the lineup in this crucial game.

Williams III previously tore his meniscus in his knee with just over a month remaining in the regular season. That cost the defensive player of the year nominee the rest of his regular season. But Williams made his return during the first round sweep of the Brooklyn Nets. Unfortunately, knee soreness kept the Celtics big man from suiting up the last two games against the Bucks. So that begs the question, is Robert Williams III playing in a must-win Game 6 vs. the Bucks.

Is Celtics center Robert Williams III playing in Game 6 vs. Bucks

According to Celtics reporter Keith Smith, Williams is still listed as questionable. During Game 3 of this semifinals series, Williams III collided with Giannis Antetokounmpo and banged knees. That has caused a lot of knee soreness and swelling. Smith noted that Celtics head coach Ime Udoka addressed the injury, saying that the swelling is down, but Williams III is still sore.

Williams III had a scan and everything is structurally fine with his knee. That's good news, but it also revealed a bone bruise. Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant is currently dealing with a bone bruise and is out indefinitely. It's painful and difficult to jump with a bone bruise in your knee.

That's exactly what the Celtics need from their big man. The Bucks destroyed the Celtics on the glass again in Game 5, ripping down 17 offensive rebounds. So, there might not be any official word on his status for Game 6, but it would take quite a bit for him to suit up.
