Roughly two weeks since returning from his battle with COVID-19, Boston Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown is still feeling the effects of the virus. Aside from breathing issues, the young star admitted his body hasn't been the same since testing positive for the dreaded disease.

Brown acknowledged that he is still recovering from the virus, with the Celtics medical staff aware of his conditioning.

“Like, I feel great. And then it feels like instead of playing one game, it kind of feels like I played three. I'm used to my body responding and recovering a lot faster. I know I just turned 25, but this can't be what it looks like on the other side,” Brown said, per ESPN.

Jaylen Brown contracted COVID-19 earlier this October and missed all but one of their preseason games to recover. While he returned in time for the start of the 2021-22 season, he's clearly still not at 100 percent. However, the Atlanta native is positive he'll get through the long-lasting effects of the virus and recapture his old form after some time.

“As I continue to fight through it and continue to play more games and get the right stuff into my system, it will get better,” Brown added. “Right now it has been inconsistent. I think that's obvious. But my body hasn't felt the same.”

Brown is averaging 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 45.6 percent shooting from the field. The biggest highlight of the campaign so far for him is his 46-point explosion in a losing effort in their season opener.

Nonetheless, while he has given Celtics fans enough reason to believe that he is doing fine, it is certainly concerning that his body is not yet in peak form. Hopefully, though, the COVID-19 won't have any other long-term effects in his health as the season progresses.
