The Boston Celtics are relishing in their 2024 NBA Championship after their 4-1 series win over the Dallas Mavericks, but it's never too soon to think about next year.

Celtics star Jaylen Brown opened up about the team's chances for next season, per Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe:

“I think we have an opportunity. I think we definitely have a window,” Jaylen Brown said on repeating. “We take it one day at a time. We definitely have to make sure we stay healthy. But, you know, we’ll enjoy the summer, enjoy the moment, and then we get right back to it next year.”

If Brown plays like he did for the Celtics this postseason, you have to like their chances. Brown fully reached superstardom, winning MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals and then the NBA Finals with his lockdown defense on Mavericks star Luka Doncic. He also averaged 20.8 points per game for Boston against Dallas.

Brown also talked about winning a title with teammate Jayson Tatum, who has been at his side for years – again per Washburn:

“Just our growth together. We’ve been through a lot. We’ve been playing together for seven years now. We’ve been through a lot, the losses, the expectations. The media have said all different types of things: We can’t play together, we are never going to win. We heard it all. But we just blocked it out, and we just kept going. I trusted him. He trusted me. And we did it together.”

The Celtics' latest championship trophy is the 18th in franchise history, passing the Los Angeles Lakers for having the most in NBA history. The two franchises have long been the most iconic in the league, and this past season added another chapter in their eternal rivalry.

Parades in Boston are always iconic. Between the Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and Boston Red Sox, the city has experienced a lot of winning, so there have been a lot of championship parades. Boston parades stand out not just for the frequency in which they've occurred, but for the manner in which the teams are transported.

Most parades haul their players, coaches, and staff members in large vehicles and floats, but Boston parades use duck boats. One of the standout activities for tourists in Boston is to take duck boat tours. Duck boats are multi-purpose crafts that can both float in water and drive on land. Every member of the Celtics' championship team experienced the parade on one of these duck boats.

That includes poor Sam Hauser, who definitely overdid it at the parade. While the Celtics glided by on their floats to greet the fans, Hauser took a moment to gather himself, which he did by seemingly puking The 26-year-old then stood back up and gave the crowd a fist pump.

Winning is tough sometimes.
