Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown usually has a diplomatic answer whenever he's asked about his team's struggles this season. But shortly after the Cs endured another painful 108-113 loss to the Dallas Mavericks at the TD Garden on Wednesday, the usually eloquent forward had nothing to say.
A visibly disappointed Brown tried to find the words to explain another gutting defeat but admitted that even he is lost for answers right now (via NBC Sports Boston).

Brown played his heart out against the Mavericks, scoring 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting on top of four rebounds and four steals in 37 minutes. But that seems to be the theme for the Celtics all season long, as Brown's fine individual performances usually go for naught. The team's lackluster defense was once again exposed, allowing Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic to scatter 36 points, eight boards, and six dimes.

The Celtics did not exactly get any better after the trade deadline, missing out on their preferred targets. Even the buy-out market didn't work out, as they failed to recruit Andre Drummond to the fold.
Jaylen Brown, meanwhile, continues to give his best and put Beantown in a position to win games. But it seems the Celtics' fate is clearly out of his hands right now and they must figure out a way to be relevant once more.
