Boston Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown will sit out against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday to nurse a right ankle injury, according to the team.

Brown looked good on Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers after returning from a two-game absence due to a thumb injury. He scored 20 points, grabbed four rebounds, dished out six assists, and nabbed three steals in a 32-point victory over their longtime rival. The victory was punctuated by a poster-worthy slam over LeBron James.

This short-term injury is one of the many the Celtics have had to endure throughout their first half of the season, now crossing over to the back half with a record of 28-14.

Brown is one of three Celtics averaging 20 points on the season, along with key contributions of 6.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft secured a beefy contract extension this summer, a sign that he is within the plans of the organization for the long run.
