The Boston Celtics were two games away from reaching basketball greatness. Up against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, they seemed destined to be the team that topples the returning dynasty. Unfortunately, their inexperience got the best of them, and they were bested in the Finals.

Now, the Celtics are doing everything in their power to make improvements to their roster. Brad Stevens is already wheeling and dealing to find the pieces to complete their roster. Of course, their stars have also been involved in these discussions: Jayson Tatum revealed as much in a recent interview. (via A. Sherrod Blakely)

“I'm invested in being with the Celtics. Myself, JB, Smart, whoever it is, giving our input in who can help us get over the hump next year, things like that.”

It's easy to forget, but the Celtics were never supposed to be in the Finals. The team struggled immensely during the regular season, dropping several games below .500 at one point. However, as the season went on, they found their own identity as a disruptive defensive powerhouse with two All-Star caliber wings on offense.

Now, the Celtics are looking to build off of that success by acquiring players that fit their identity. The acquisition of Malcolm Brogdon was a perfect deal for them, as they nabbed a true point guard who also fits seamlessly in their dynamic defensive schemes. Now, they're trying to see if there's anything else they can do to get them over that proverbial hump.

Will they look for another potential rotation player for them? Or will the Celtics pull the trigger on the biggest fish in the market and trade for Kevin Durant? The offseason is still young, and there's plenty of time for the Cs to shock the NBA world.
