Jayson Tatum hasn't been his best self throughout four games in the 2022 NBA Finals, but Kendrick Perkins knows exactly what the Boston Celtics star needs to do to fix himself: be like Kobe Bryant.
As much as Tatum has shown his love for Kobe and tried to emulate him, the Celtics youngster hasn't really been doing justice in copying the mentality that made Bryant great. For Perk, Tatum has to show that competitiveness and desire to win and get it done no matter what it takes–just like what the late Los Angeles Lakers legend did when he was with the Purple and Gold.
“He keep remembering Kobe Bryant, Kobe Bryant had a mentality … he's going to do it himself and that's the mentality Jayson Tatum has to have!” Perkins said, via NBA on ESPN.

Kendrick Perkins certainly makes a great point. While Jayson Tatum and the Celtics can talk about how they need to do better at crunch time, take care of the ball better or even be more aggressive offensively, it always all boils down to their desire to win and whether they want it more. Sure enough, they wouldn't collapse in late-game situations and someone would always take over when things get tough if they have that mentality.
Fortunately for the Celtics, the series is far from over. At 2-2, Tatum must show in Game 5 that he wants it more.
Dr. Perk is here to fix Jayson Tatum 👀
