Jayson Tatum was uncharacteristically inefficient for the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The All-Star forward went just 3-of-17 from the floor on Friday en route to 12 points. Despite his poor shooting night, though, the Celtics were still able to escape with a 120-108 win.

On Saturday, Tatum spoke out about his mindset following his subpar performance from the field in Game 1. It is clear that the Celtics star has already put this behind him as they look to go up 2-0 in Game 2:

“Once you've done something before, you know how to respond,” Tatum said, via NBA on Twitter. “I've had some bad shooting nights in the NBA, right? So it's like I've been here before. I know what to do next game. I think a lot of it is mental, you don't let it creep into your mind. I can't do nothing about what happened last game. I missed those shots and it is what it is.”

Tatum then discussed what he believes how the Celtics must treat Game 2 on Sunday. At this point, the last thing Boston needs to do is to take their foot off the gas:

“It's all about how to prepare and get ready for the next one,” he continued. “It's not so much about me or what I need to do, it's about what we need to do and how we need to be prepared for the adjustment that they're gonna make, and how they're gonna respond. We need to be ready and not relax just because we're up 1-0.”

You can expect the Warriors to go all out in Game 2 as they look to even out the series. The Celtics should be ready for this onslaught and much like they did in Game 1, they must be able to weather the storm and patiently wait for their opportunity to strike.
