The Boston Celtics host the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday and it looks like they are going to be without star point guard Kyrie Irving.

Kyrie Irving is dealing with a left hip strain. The Celtics are listing him as doubtful to play against the Hornets.

Irving didn't play on Monday versus the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics were still able to defeat Brooklyn, winning by a final score of 112-104 to improve to 31-19 on the season. Boston is in the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Irving, 26, is averaging 23.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game this season for Boston. The now six-time All-Star is shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 85.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Irving has 12 double-doubles on the season. The Celtics are 26-17 when Uncle Drew plays. Luckily for Boston, they have one of the best backup point guards in the league in Terry Rozier, so their offense doesn't drop off that much when Irving doesn't play.

Rozier scored 14 points and dished out seven assists against the Nets on Monday. He shot 6-of-15 from the floor and 2-of-8 from the 3-point line. The 24-year-old is expected to get the start versus the Hornets if Irving is out again.
