Kyrie Irving's days as the clear-masked Zorro are soon coming to an end.

The Boston Celtics star point guard will put on the mask one last time tonight against the San Antonio Spurs before ditching it for good, having gotten enough protection from it during the last few games.

“I hope not to see it again,” said Irving, according to Jay King of MassLive.

Yet the All-Star floor general is not fond of Jaylen Brown's newly-acquired goggles, sensing something might change in his game while getting used to the sensation of having them on through his stint on the court.

“I'm not looking forward to Jaylen being in the goggles. I already told him the first possession that I pass him the ball and he does something that's not Jaylen Brown-like, I'm not passing him the ball” “Obviously I'm joking. But I told him that”

Brown missed Wednesday's tilt against the Dallas Mavericks with inflammation in his right eye, and is now expected to wear the goggles for the next week, which will likely require some sort of adjustment.

Irving had suffered a facial fracture in early November against the Charlotte Hornets, forcing him to keep a face mask to protect him from further injury.
