Boston Celtics All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving insists his uncertain future with the team wasn't a factor in its second-round playoff series loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

A reporter asked Irving this question during the Celtics' postgame press conference on Wednesday. Irving shook his said and said, “No…no” before standing up and walking away from the press table.

Irving also told the media he will not wallow in self-pity after the loss to the Bucks. However, he admitted the bitter defeat will linger, per NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg.

It was a great opponent for me to play against for the rest of my career because I know I won't forget something like this, and the taste of defeat in this type of style, being down 1-4, I haven't felt.

For me, it's just moving on to the next thing, and just seeing where that ends up.

According to The Associated Press (via ESPN), Boston's season-ending 116-91 loss in Game 5 to the Bucks on May 8 could have been Irving's last in a Celtics uniform.

The 27-year-old Irving has a player option worth $21.3 million for the 2019-20 NBA season. Should he exercise this player option, he will become an unrestricted free agent.

This is the question which in the minds of many Boston fans – will Irving stay or will he leave?

Irving had an atrocious performance against the Bucks on Wednesday. Although he scored 15 points, he made only six of 21 shots from the field.

In the Celtics' four straight losses to Milwaukee, Irving shot just 30.1 percent from the floor and 18.5 percent from three-point range, per Forsberg.

The entire Celtics team didn't do well, either. The Celtics shot a paltry 31.2 percent from the floor in Game 5, per The Associated Press (via ESPN).

Was Irving's mind messed up? We'll never know for sure. It was obvious he and his teammates played tight in Game 5. 2019 NBA MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo simply outplayed them from start to finish.

For now, the guessing games behind Kyrie Irving's offseason plans are officially underway.
