Al Horford and the Boston Celtics are entering the 2018-19 with huge expectations. At this point in time, the Celtics are widely expected to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. They are not, however, expected to knock off the Golden State Warriors this season.

Danny Ainge has done an excellent job of building a legitimate championship contender in Boston. He has brought stars like Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward to lead the way. Add in great draft picks in Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Terry Rozier, and the Celtics have a powerhouse.

In an interview with Brian Robb of the Boston Sports Journal, Horford talked about how the team has evolved since he originally signed with them.

“Coming here … what Danny, coach and the owners sold me on was this. They talked to me about a new facility. I felt like they knew that was important to me. We had a lot of draft picks coming up and we have the potential to get free agents and trade for people. Everything they've said, they have delivered. They've put us in a position this year to contend.”

He was also asked if he wants to remain with the Celtics for the rest of his career.

“No question.”

Last season with the Celtics, Horford ended up averaging 12.9 points to go along with 7.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He shot 48.9 percent from the floor overall and knocked down 42.9 percent of his 3-point attempts. The big man also chipped in 4.7 assists per game.

At 32 years old, Horford is coming down the final stretch of his career. He still has a few good years left in him, and it sounds like he wants to spend them in Boston.
