Terry Rozier has had an eyebrow-raising postseason after being given the keys to the starting point guard position, but he picked the absolute-worst time to have a nightmare shooting outing for the Boston Celtics. Yet the gritty Louisville product has no regrets after a ghastly 2-of-14 performance from the floor in a 87-79 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers that stopped them a yard short of an NBA Finals appearance.
“Nothing to do with that,” Rozier told ESPN's Jackie MacMullan. “I would definitely take all those shots over again. My confidence is still with me. It will carry over to the summer and to next season, too.”
Rozier shot an awful 0-for-10 from deep, leading a futile combined 7-of-39 (18 percent) from behind the 3-point arc, which proved unsustainable against a Cleveland team grinding the most out of their possessions down the stretch.
The young guard admitted falling short of making a Finals appearance “it's a bitter pill to swallow,” but remained confident that his effort and experience will carry on to other stages of his career.
Rozier was fresh off a series-best 28-point performance during a Game 6 loss to the Cavaliers, but his hot 3-point shooting (6-of-10) didn't carry onto Game 7, ultimately playing part in a 34 percent shooting night for the Celtics that spelled the end of the road.
