Boston Celtics star guard Kyrie Irving is back which means Terry Rozier will be heading back to the bench to play a backup role. But there's no competition between the two. If, at any, Rozier is excited to have Irving back.

As per Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, Rozier is looking forward to a whole lot of fun with their star point guard back:

“I’m happy Kyrie’s back. It’s going to make it even more fun, more challenging in practice, more stuff-talking. So you’ve got to love it. I’m just as happy as anybody he’s back. I can just learn more & it’s going to be a great season.”

In the regular season, Rozier played 80 games, only 16 of which were part of the starting line up. He averaged 11.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 25.9 minutes. He mostly played back-up for Irving — the best player in the Celtics.

But an injury sidelined Irving during the latter part of the season which extended up to the playoffs. Due to this, Rozier was inserted back to the starting line up and eventually became a critical part of the Celtics' 19-game playoff run.

In the postseason, the 23-year-old, 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.5 points per game, 5.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in 36.6 minutes. Though Rozier failed to find consistency at times, he otherwise provided ample point guard skills to help lead the undermanned Celtics all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
