The Boston Celtics are unlikely to make a move at the February trade deadline, according to Tom Haberstroh of NBCSports.com.

After getting off to a slow start to the season, the Celtics are beginning to round into form. Boston enters Saturday with a record of 30-18, good for fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Celtics could float Terry Rozier and Jaylen Brown on the trade market, but league sources tell NBCSports.com they are likely to sit sight and hope both bounce back to last season’s levels. With the chances of a midseason Anthony Davis trade lessening by the day, the Celtics have good reason to hold pat.

Terry Rozier will become a restricted free agent after this season ends.

Kyrie Irving said before the season started that he plans on re-signing with the Celtics in the summer, so Rozier could sign a lucrative offer sheet with another team and Boston could decide to not match it and let him walk.

After averaging 14.5 points per game last season, Jaylen Brown is putting up only 12.3 this season. The drop off, though, was expected considering both Irving and Gordon Hayward are back in the lineup.

Hayward essentially missed the entire 2017-18 season after suffering the gruesome left ankle injury on opening night in Cleveland, while Irving underwent season-ending knee surgery in April.

Boston is better off holding onto their assets in case a superstar like Anthony Davis becomes available in the offseason via trade.
