The Boston Celtics aren't expected to make any major moves before the trade deadline, but they are expected to join the Anthony Davis sweepstakes if the New Orleans Pelicans don't move him before Thursday.

There are speculations that Celtics guard Terry Rozier might be traded within the next 48 hours, but according to TheRinger.com's Kevin O'Connor, Boston has no intention of sending him elsewhere because of several reasons.

League sources don’t expect the Celtics to move point guard Terry Rozier, who will be a restricted free agent this offseason. Unless Boston is blown away, Rozier is viewed as insurance in case Kyrie Irving leaves, or as a potential sign-and-trade sweetener in a move for Anthony Davis.

Rozier has shown flashes of his potential to become one of the East's best guards. He was most remembered for his performance in last season's playoffs, when he helped Boston reach the Eastern Conference Finals. It makes sense for the Celtics to keep him, especially with all the rumors surrounding Kyrie Irving's future.

If Davis isn't traded before Thursday, then Rozier's future with Boston is no longer secured, as he is expected to be one of the assets that will be included in the Celtics' trade offer to the Pelicans.

The Celtics are planning to land a big fish this summer, and Rozier is most likely going to be one of the sacrifices as Boston assembles a team that will help the franchise win its 19th NBA title.

For now, Boston is willing to play the waiting game.
