The Boston Celtics earlier this week fell short of reaching the 2017 NBA Finals after falling to the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers in only five games in the Eastern Conference Finals.

It has immediately shifted the gears of the franchise toward this upcoming offseason where they are hoping to add more talent to the roster in order to finally dethrone the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference. According to Chris Forsberg of ESPN, point guard Isaiah Thomas has voiced his desire to be a part of the process in helping recruit more veteran help to the team.

“We need the best possible player that's gonna help us win, and I'm with that,” Thomas said. “Anything Danny and this organization need me to do to help bring even more talent to this city, I'm all for that. I want to win a championship and being so close to getting to the Finals, that makes you want it that much more.

“I'm all help if they need it. I'll be around.”

Since his arrival to the Celtics in 2014, Thomas has played a major role in the franchise's transformation into one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. In the process, he has become an elite scoring point guard in the league while earning his second NBA All-Star Game selection and first All-NBA Second Team nod this past season.

Although it's unclear at this moment whether Boston is going to extend Thomas beyond his current deal that has just one more year remaining worth $6.3 million, the 28-year-old feels indebted to help the organization given what they have done for his career.

The Celtics are rumored to be highly interested in adding an All-Star frontcourt player this upcoming summer and there could be a few viable options available. The team has been previously linked to both Jimmy Butler and Paul George in the trade market. Meanwhile, Gordon Hayward is believed to be their top target once free agency begins in July.

All in all, it's abundantly clear that Thomas wants to remain in Boston long-term, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to turn the team into a legitimate championship contender.
