Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas is a proud father of two boys and he wants to be a role model to them. They are the reason why he wants to be an even better player on the court as he knows they are always watching the games.
According to a piece written by Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, the 5-foot-9 guard wants to work on his temperament during games to try and cut down on the technical fouls he receives for the sake of his sons.
“Mostly, Thomas said, he wants to tone down the technicals because he knows they do not set a good example for his young sons, James and Jaiden. When the two boys play games of one-on-one against each other, Thomas serves as the official, and he witnesses what it is like to be on the other side of the whistle.”
Thomas also shared a story when he found out that his boys are aware of all his actions in Celtics games which made him conscious of how he conducts himself now.

So far this season, the 28-year-old has 13 technicals and is only three away from an automatic suspension. He is hoping the league rescinds the last one called on him to get him further away from 16 for the year as he understands the Celtics cannot afford to have him miss a game for them.
With only five games left on their schedule, it doesn't seem like Thomas will be suspended in the regular season. However, with the playoffs nearing, it will be important for him to keep his emotions in check as each game is a must win, and for his sons to see that he is no longer the ill-tempered father they watch during Celtics games.
