The Boston Celtics’ frontline just got deeper as they re-signed one of their more solid, yet under-the-radar, big men.
After contract talks dragged to this point, center Tyler Zeller and the Celtics have finally agreed to a new two-year deal deal, per Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald.

In his two seasons as a Celtic, Zeller averaged 8.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 142 games. Despite logging only 11 minutes per game last season, the former North Carolina Tar Heel proved to be very effective when given playing time as his “per 36 minutes” stats were at a very impressive 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks.
However, with Al Horford manning the middle, the exposure to extended minutes isn’t a guarantee for Tyler Zeller.
