Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant told Toronto Raptors big man Serge Ibaka on his cooking show that he wants to finish out his career in Barcelona and experience EuroLeague basketball.

Barcelona head coach Svetislav Pesic addressed Durant's comments on Tuesday:

“I’m not surprised,” Pesic said, per Mundo Deportivo. “He knows the basketball situation outside of the NBA because he has played with the national team several times with the national team, winning the World Cup (2010) in Turkey for example.

“It’s a sign that some things have changed in the last five or 10 years because before, players of this level didn’t know that there was another [type of] basketball. Now they know because basketball is a global sport.

“He will have a place with our team but not this year… the next one.”

Nikola Mirotic signed with Barcelona this summer after playing in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks.

Durant, who signed a four-year deal with the Nets in free agency this offseason, told Ibaka he doesn't know for sure if he's going to play for Barcelona. The two-time Finals MVP added it would be cool to experience playing in EuroLeague basketball.

KD will most likely miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles tear. The Nets will be legitimate title contenders next season when Durant suits up.
