The Brooklyn Nets are doing their part to pay tribute to the late Kobe Bryant. The team announced that they would leave the two seats that Kobe and his daughter Gianna sat in earlier this year empty.
Bryant tragically passed away this weekend along with Gianna and seven other passengers when a helicopter crashed they were on crashed in Calabasas, California. The helicopter was on its way to a travel basketball game prior to the accident.
The seats the Nets are using to honor Bryant have significance as they were the same seats the two sat in when a video clip of Kobe teaching Gianna went viral a few months ago, per Malika Andrews of ESPN. Like her father, Gianna was a big fan of basketball and the 13-year-old was active in the sport.
Bryant is survived by his wife Vanessa and his three daughters Natalia, Bianka and Capri.

Bryant's 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers will undoubtedly go down as one of the best in NBA history. The Black Mamba inspired an entire generation of players and was one of the most influential figures in sports.
Prior to the game as Brooklyn honored Bryant, Nets point guard Kyrie Irving appeared overcome with emotions. Irving sat out in the team's previous game against the New York Knicks after learning about Bryant's death.
