Things are not going very well for the Brooklyn Nets right now. They have lost five straight games and have slid all the way back to sixth in the Eastern Conference. This recent stretch may be the most futile stretch of the Nets' Big 3 era.

James Harden has been fed up with Brooklyn before their losing streak began. He reportedly has looked into leaving the Nets after next season, which is a terrible sign for their title hopes.

After a loss to the Phoenix Suns, Harden voiced his displeasure with the officiating in the most hypocritical way possible.

Anyone familiar with the NBA can spot the irony right away. Harden is as prolific of a foul-baiter as the league has seen. Although his tactics have made the Nets' superstar one of the most unstoppable scorers in the league, it comes at the price of slowing the game down and irritating fans.

Harden struggled with new officiating early in the season but bounced back to his usual, dominant self. although he is dealing with a troubling hand injury right now, he has a huge role to play for Brooklyn while Kevin Durant remains out with a knee injury.

But while Harden is left carrying a heavy burden, Kyrie Irving remains unavailable for home games. Irving has been playing well in this stretch but leaves Harden out to dry due to his reluctance to comply with New York City's vaccination requirements.

Irving discussed that he Durant and Harden have long-term ambitions together. This recent stretch may not define whether or not those ambitions play out but they do show cracks in Brooklyn's armor. They will have to patch those up.
